Brief Summary:
Barangay New Argao faces the eastern coastline of Davao gulf with Barangay Tingolo of the South, Brgy. Kibalatong and Felis in the west, and Barangay Culaman on the north. Almost equally divided between valley and swamp plant, it has the total area of 311, 570 hectares within a semi-circle mountain ridges along the south, west and northern boundaries. The sources of income of the constituents are coconut planting/farming and fishing. The barangay has clay source in some of its areas which was already visited and studied by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
To address one of the underlying causes of child poverty, which is, low economic condition of the families, the project affiliate together with the partner stakeholders designed a community project which aims to alleviate the living condition of the affecting families, giving birth to the NEW ARGAO POTTERY MAKER’S ASSOCIATION.
The association was organized last February 23, 2007. This project is a joint efforts of the LGU, Sangguniang Barangay, Department of Science and Technology and the Malita Children’s Program.
