Municipality of Malita is composed of 30 barangays. Most of its product are coconut, corn, abaca, coffee beans, and other agricultural products. Coastal areas are abundant of fish which people consider as their source of income. Most of the family members in Barangay New Argao are engaged in coconut farming and fishing which are seasonal and not sufficient to provide the family basic needs. Although New Argao belongs to the coastal barangays, it has an abundant soil resources that has never been utilized which is clay. One-fourth (1/4) of the land area in New Argao is clay.
People in Malita and nearby municipalities bought their clays pots and kalans from other places because no one produces this kind of product in the area.
The success of the project will mark as the first and only pottery project in the municipality.
This project will provide livelihood to out-of –school youth and CCF and Non-CCF families in the community. The project will able the members to establish income generating enterprises.

As of now, the New Argao Pottery Makers Association has 22 members and the association still accepting new members, those willing to be trained. The association is also producing different sizes of pots, flower vase, kalan and many more. Likewise, New Argao Pottery Makers Association has started to earn income and developed markets linkages to other nearby municipalities and barangays.
The members of the association have already undergone several trainings such as Pottery skills training Phase I, Pottery skills training Phase II, Enhancement training on Pottery making, Costing and Pricing, Organizational Development and Teambuilding, Simple Bookkeeping, Auditing and Accounting, Business Planning and Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation.
